Description

Concrete Connections: Concrete Overlays & Paving Project Tour

Join us for our next Concrete Connections educational event featuring Jerod Gross, P.E., LEED AP, Senior Project Manager with Snyder & Associates, Inc.

Concrete overlays are a proven solution for extending pavement life, improving performance, and maximizing infrastructure investments. During this in-depth educational session, Jerod will share practical guidance on evaluating existing pavements, selecting the appropriate overlay strategy, and designing for long-term success.

Drawing on his experience providing technical training, conducting research, and authoring concrete pavement guidance for the National Concrete Pavement Technology Center at Iowa State University, Jerod will walk attendees through the complete overlay process—from understanding concrete pavement history and performance to overlay evaluation and selection, materials and design, plan development, construction, and maintenance.

Whether you're an engineer, contractor, producer, or public agency professional, this session will provide valuable insights into the best practices and considerations for successful concrete overlay projects, with opportunities for discussion and questions throughout the program.

Paving Project Tour

Following the educational program, take the conversation into the field during a guided tour of a current paving project led by Cameron Craig, P.E., District 6 Engineer with the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT).

A graduate of the University of Nebraska, Cameron is a licensed Professional Engineer in Nebraska with more than 20 years of transportation engineering experience. His background includes planning, roadway design, project management, and construction administration. In his current role as District Engineer in west central Nebraska, Cameron brings broad expertise to projects ranging from routine maintenance activities to complex roadway reconstruction.

During the tour, Cameron will provide an on-site perspective of the paving project, discussing current construction activities, field considerations, and the challenges and decisions involved in delivering transportation projects in the field.

Start your day with learning that moves from the classroom to the job site, combining technical education with a firsthand look at concrete paving in practice.
